Every Saturday Middle Ground members gather for prayer and breakfast. We start the morning with Fajr Salah and then break bread with one another. It’s a great opportunity to get to know other members in the community as well as treat yourself to Shaykh Chef’s (Imam Marc!!) famous coffee and breakfast. Current time is 5AM. Front door code is 3923 and the rear entrance code is 0719*. Imam Marc’s Understanding the Qur’ān class follows. Currently, the class is on the Third Chapter of the Qur’ān, Sūrah al-Nisā’.
Understanding the Qur’an
After Fajr Club on Saturdays, Imam Marc teaches Understanding the Qur’an. This course explores such topics as tafsīr, ‘aqīdah (theology and creed), fiqh (jurisprudence), as well as insights into the Arabic language. The class also explores how we might understand Revelation in light of our culture as Americans.
Currently the class is on the Fourth Chapter of the Qur’ān, Sūrah al-Nisā’, through such works by al-Sa’dī, Ibn Juzayy, al-Ṭabarī, and al-Qurṭubī and others.

Ten Principles For Purifying the Soul
As part of Middle Ground’s new programming we have some new classes and activities. One of them is the Thursday ifṭār followed by a short reading of Ten Principles in Purifying the Soul/عشر قواعد في تزكية النفس by Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzaq bin ‘Abd al-Muḥsin al-Bad/عبد الرزاق بن عبد المحسن البدر. We read between Maghrib and al-‘Ishā’.
We also do a reading of Ibn Abī Zayd al-Qayrawānī’s al-Risalah the last two Sundays of every month.
All classes can be attended remotely. Please send us your email (to firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have not already signed up for the email list.
